Becoming Hope

DAILY VITAMIN
- Becoming Hope
"To whom God was pleased to make known how great for the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ within and among you, the Hope of [realizing the] glory". (Colossians 1:27 AMP)
If I were asked to describe the Person of Jesus with one word, not on the basis of race, or ministry, I would say HOPE. Everywhere Jesus stepped into, He was a ray of hope to everyone who encountered Him. The scripture says He went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil (Acts 10:38). So at all times, people knew they had a solution with Him around.
When the blind met Jesus, they immediately knew that there might be a chance to see the stars glow. When the lame saw Him, they knew that walking again could cease being a dream or wishful thinking. When the afflicted touched Him, they could feel all affictions within them dropping. When the broken-hearted conversed with Him, they knew the cracks were soon to be annealed. When the sorrowful came to him, they knew a balm was already there to bring warmth to their souls.
In every place and time, Jesus was a solution to someone's need. By the beginning of the era of the A.D cycle of time, the masses couldn't find Him bodily around them anymore, but He never left, He still remained there giving hope and life to as many as sought Him, as He also does with us.
Note in His bodily presence and absence, the Lord stands as a symbol of hope to all creation: Now the question is, what impact have you-an ambassador of the same Jesus-made on those around you?
Infact, your life should be a replica of the same ray that shines on men, giving them undying hope. Your words should be a capsule of relief to men's ailments and sorrows. Recall, Philippians 1:27 says 'Let your conversation be as it become the gospel of Christ', revealing that your conversation, which also can be translated as your lifestyle or manner of life, daily words, principles and impartation, must be as the good news of Jesus which, firstly, is to give life and, to give it more abundantly (John 10:10).
Note the 'your' in this context means more of me as it does you. Hence, let our step into every place be the entrance of hope and life for all that inhabit such environments. It is our natural calling in Christ. Matthew 5:16 says "Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven" (AMP).
Thus, be the source of hope that Jesus in you still is to all men!
"Who comforts (consoles and encourages) us in every trouble (calamity and affliction), so that we may also be able to comfort (console and encourage) those who are in any kind of trouble or distress, with the comfort (consolation and encouragement) with which we ourselves are comforted (consoled and encouraged) by God".                 (2 Corinthians 1:4 AMP)
