Practicing The Word

DAILY VITAMIN
- Practicing The Word
The words of God carry a soothing aura of rest, and if only we can hold on to it, life would be a whole lot easier, because by the strength of the Word, He carries our burdens, and bears our cares.
The prophet Micah, in those medieval days, wrote a line I love so much; he wrote....Do not My [God's] words do good to him that walk uprightly (Micah 2:7). The fulfillment of the word, as reiterated in those words of Micah, reaches completion fully in the lives of the upright. Upright here signifies the strictly obedient ones. Those who take God at His word, and practice all He instructs to the latter.
The Bible emphasizes on how an upright man is a delight to God, and to the people; and so uprightness is a nature and character all men must covet, for it is a carrier of integrity and a conduit towards blessings.
But this is where I'm truly driving at: the words of God are always ready to be fulfilled (Isaiah 55:11), yet they are quickened only by them who understands the principle of its fulfilment. When God tells you something, it is not for you to demand 'how' and 'when' it's going to be, neither is it for you to try to decipher what direction its accomplishment is going to take, rather it is for you to conceive it, believe it, calling it as if it were, and living it as if it is (see John 13:17). This is because only through this practice will its reality be clearly manifested in your life.
For instance, Abraham had had correspondence with God of his future as a father of fathers, yet he had no son. He nearly gave up, willing his all to his most faithful servant, but God cautioned him, teaching him to count the stars in view of how large his family-scape would be; and I presume to say that Abraham never stopped counting.
At the time of his death, Abraham had only 8 sons, but centuries later, he produced almost half the number of nations now on the earth. How? Because even though he thought to give up, he kept on giving in to God's word, living as if it was already.
Now, concerning you, whatever it may be God had said in relation to you, remember these words.....'Believe also in Me'(John 14:1), because He who said it is also able to accomplish it in your life.
Remember, while we are yet alive, we must do the work of the living, for when we are dead, we can do more; and in the words of Jesus, this is the work of the living: that we believe and practice all He tells us (John 6:29). So, as you hear Him speak, just keep living it as if it is already, for His Word always...always does good, and it will  even for you!
