God Knows What You Feel

DAILY VITAMIN
- God Knows What You Feel
Many individuals have it as a dogma that we commit sin when we tell God how we feel; but truth is, God is truly interested in listening to how you feel than some rehearsed line they force you to say mechanically, and which you say with no heart in those words. God is not a dictator, He is your Father; and every father is interested in the affairs of His children. He knows our weaknesses, yet He doesn't condemn us nor criticize us, but rather has promised to give us the strength we need to overcome it all.
When in pain, telling God how you feel is the beginning of the healing process- that is when we engage it in a humble manner. When in need, telling God how you feel is the key to your desired change, because He works with what you say. Remember, He said "Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou may be justified" (Isaiah 43:26).
At Jericho's lane, Jesus didn't rush to restore Bartimaeus' sight, rather He waited to know what he needed, because what you need easily defines what you feel within. While many might have thought Jesus' words at Gethsemane were a sign of weakness, God teaches us that it's truly the first step of gaining the consciousness of how truly powerless we are on our own, which eventually draws us closer to Him. David wrote 'Trust Him at all times'...yet he didn't stop there, he continued by saying 'Pour out your heart before God' (Psalm 62:8). You see, the moment a man says to God 'I give up on my strength, help me Lord', he sets the healing hands of God in motion.
Thus, are you in pain? Perhaps you lost someone or something special, God is not angry that you feel sad sometimes; No, He only would if you remain that way, because that simply reveals doubt in our faith towards Him. He understands it is normal for men to feel the pain of being hurt, but He desires something paranormal in the eyes of men; that is, that you turn to Him for strength; that you surrender your wrath to Him so that He can heal you from the dreadful pain of such losses. The pain won't restore nor compensate for your loss, only God can. He says He would heal us of all our wounds, and restore health unto us (Jeremiah 30:17). Then why invest all of your time on being sad when it holds no promise of reward? Find strength in God, for that's where our finding justification for that circumstance actually begins.
Remember, His strength is perfect in your weakness, so give Him a try if you haven't; tell Him how you feel, tell Him to help you, even heal you. Yes, He knows everything about you and how you presently feel, but you telling Him is you affirming that you know He can help you and will. Hence, it doesn't reveal vanity, it reveals your confidence in His Person.  David said "cast your burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain you" (Psalm 55:22); and I  believe He's going to, because He said 'he that comes to me, I would in no wise cast away' (John 6:37).... and that includes you!
