Obedience Is The Key

DAILY VITAMIN
- Obedience Is The Key
One thing a man who walks with the Lord, or who wills to, must know is that with God obedience recovers losses. It is actually the key to His heart. Many atimes when we weigh the risk of giving up all our false gettings for Christ, we tend to wish we didn't have to. That's the same way it must have felt for Peter when Jesus told him to leave the ships and follow Him, still having an urge to return to it immediately after Christ's death. The same way it must have felt for Paul when he dropped his law repute only to embrace the gospel of truth with so much fervency amidst the trials and buffeting. The same way it must have felt for the well-to-do Elisha to have dropped the wealth of his home, and the flock he had bred, only to follow the poor prophet who didn't even have a home.
But in all of this, God showed Himself mighty because they all had a witness that indeed all things worked together for good to those who love God enough to put Him first. For instance, let's take Amaziah for example (2 Chronicles 25); he had paid Israel to assist him in battle against Edom, but God didn't agree with that plan. Furthermore, God was willing to let him forego the expenses it took in hiring the armies of Israel, and go alone to battle. To Amaziah it was suicide, but to God it was perfect, because indeed obedience recovers losses. I don't know how much Amaziah lost for services he never used, but I do know that he gained it all back in abundance from the spoils of the conquered.
Just like Amaziah, a lot of us always seem to refuse to let some things go even when God is saying it has no place in our lives. The thought of how much energy, commitment, and time we have given to it somewhat entices us to cling to it, that perhaps it might just be God's will after all- be it a relationship, a job, business or what have you; but guess what, it isn't about how much time you've given it, but about how much of God you have backing it up. And never forget what Jesus said, he that honor me[by obeying me], him shall my Father honor (John 12:26).
So I'll say this, if it ain't right, discard it; not right in our own sight per se, but in God's, because truly once a man starts obeying God, he starts recovering everything lost, 'for the LORD is able to give thee much more than this' (Vs 9).
 Obedience is truly the key.
