- Being Better Starts With A Change In Mindset
Some days back, I spoke about how the major difference between the successful and the failed is the mindset they develop; well here's another reason why: A few times out of many, the odds are that the man who grew up in the slum would surpass the level of the slums, but ironically at other times the odds are against that. Such that the conditions these individuals found around themselves force them to believe they can never be anything other than that; and so it can be said that such a problem as we find in many isn't a result of a physical attack, neither is it anything spiritual, but a mental one, keeping the individual in a subconscious mental suicidal state that tells him 'No way' whenever he dares dream above the slums.
But what does God has to say about that? What solution does He proffers? Romans 12:2 says, 'Be not conformed to the world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind'. First, there must be a. change in conformation from the world's will for you to God's will before there can be a transformation, such that when everything around you makes sickness dogma for you, you say 'No' to that offer.....
How?
A change in your mindset. When it says all there is is poverty, you say 'No', because you can be more. And it will astound you to know how powerful of a mind God has given you, such that whatsoever you say and agree to, you can accomplish (Genesis 11:6).
Thus, know this, if for any reason you must be above the expectation of the world for you, there must be a saying of 'No' to the world's will for you, and a saying of 'Yes' to God's will for you (3 John 2-4), bringing into your mindset and lifestyle more of the Eternal Son, so that you can accomplish that which is the perfect will of God.
Hence, if there must be a change.....if you must be changed, your mindset must be renewed unto positivity. So, what are you waiting for? Start with a prayer, and then an action of change.
