Love Is Where Life Begins

DAILY VITAMIN
What's the most important thing to you in life? Think for a while before you answer. And you can take as long as it takes.
Alright! Are you ready now? Let's continue.
In everything you do always remember that love comes before ambition. Most times we get so carried away in climbing the ladder of success that we fail to recognize and notice when there are hands stretching high for us to help lift them up. We so much pursue self-purposed desires that we miss those God sends our way to impact; not that they didn't show up, but that we failed to notice their arrival.
And guess what: Our silver lining of greatness in the sands of time and in the mouth of men is not built by the success we built for ourselves, but by how much success we attained in imparting and influencing people. Any achievement of ours' that has no positive impact on others isn't labeled success, but a self-fulfilled goal; and that's why Mother Teresa wrote 'a life not lived for others[ to influence and affect them positively] is not a life at all'.
The good Samaritan would never have been mentioned in scripture if he didn't choose love to help a man in dire need above the zeal to get to where he thought to get to on time. Your ability to choose the sick fellow fallowing unto death on the wayside even when you know you could miss a mllion bucks that very minute is what makes us just like God is. Of course, we know the consequences.....we are not stupid, we are just wise enough to know that influence and impartation pay the bills of life that money can't. Jesus said 'No greater love is there than that a man die for his friend'(John 15:13).
Can you give up your top priority goal for a moment just to help someone who really needs your attention? Or are you driven by a selfish goal that affects no one but you? The great men of the world are remembered not because they achieved their goals alone, but because they did something that affected the public and future generations, striking their memory to forever remember them.
Do you want to be retained in the mind of tomorrow? Choose love above ambition. Choose what's needed to exhibit God's goodness than what's wanted by you to strengthen ego. Augustine once said "What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. That is what love looks like".
Hence, choose the more selfless life- and affect that soul that calls unto you today, because that might just be the deed that lifts you up to the hall of fame in the minds of men.
