Relish His Ways

DAILY VITAMIN
David ordered a census of all Israel in his days, and the very act wasn't really pleasant before God. No one knew why David made it a priority to know the numeration of men in his host that very moment, perhaps he thought to have a concrete proof of his establishment, other than God's reassuring words. Just like David, many of us either want to feel assured that God is capable in that he gave us all He's promised on time, or that we have all we require to win any challenge we encounter. Counting the people wasn't the problem, the intention behind it was. God wants us to live our lives trusting Him absolutely. He doesn't want us to grow in confidence because of the number of individuals we have in our armies, but because of all He's said He would accomplish in our lives. He wants us living off Him. Not relying on our tangible accomplishments, but on Him. Don't be confident that your future is bright because you have multiple degrees, or because your ancestry are super rich, rather be confident because Gid's promised it to you. He doesn't want us putting Him up as a last option because of the accolades we've gathered, He wants to take first place in our lives, such that you are assured of getting the job because He's breathing in your direction. You're sure of having a peaceful and blissful future because of Him as well. He wants to be God in our lives, which figuratively means occupying first place.
So what should you do? Relish in your accomplishments, but never at the expense of God. God never shares His glory with any thing, not even human accomplishments. So, learn to return all the glory to Him, giving Him the right of ownership and role of the maatermind behind all your achievements, not your accolades. He wills to take the place of God in your life as earlier said, where the number of our supposed backup no longer moves us into believing, just the simple truth that He is able to do all He's promised. Let your sufficiency come from Him!
"If you want favour with both God and man, and a reputation for good judgment and common sense, then trust the Lord completely; don't ever trust yourself" (Proverbs 3:4-5 TLB).
