Let God Be Enough (1)

DAILY VITAMIN
Let God Be Enough #1
Have you ever had the feeling of having your assured hopes squandered? Your supposed impenetrable defences tread to pieces? Your source of fortification besieged? Well, the citizens of Judah had that feeling. At a point in their lives when everything was going alright and rosy, and the people were getting to respect God's laws and principles, trusting Him for their every need, news came that plans were being made to put the entire nation under tribute. The cities they thought as safeholds were caged in, and crashing, as it became clear that the enemy was clearly planning on defying God to totally annihilate whatever freedom they had. Well, i guess this seems familiar to you. At a point when we had acceded to the fact that everything had cooled down, and peace (of mind and heart) restored, trouble surfaced again. The kind of trouble that begs the question if God still exists, even when seconds ago, you reverenced Him in full awareness. The sort that questions His care for you, even when former experiences already showed He does. Judah were dilapidated. But guess what king Hezekiah did. He was conscious of one truth, and he made sure they all became conscious of it as well; saying "Be strong, be brave, and do not be afraid of the king of Assyria or his mighty army, for there is SOMEONE with us who is far greater than he is! He has a great army, but they are all mere men, while we have the Lord our God to fight our battles for us" (2 Chro 32:7-8 TLB). Though the panicky had made them forget God's name, but Hezekiah emphasizing on their adopted ignorance, that someone (who perhaps they'd decided to forget) is enough for them, to help and deliver them. And guess what? They were greatly encouraged. Today, let God's presence and ability to help encourage you in whatever ordeal you are experiencing. You might have left Him out of your calculations prior to now, but add Him to it, and rest in His peace. Jesus said "I am leaving you with a gift- peace of mind and heart" (John 14:27), but this peace comes only when you choose to trust Him at all cost in every heist-like and belligerent situation. That is, being rest assured that He's mighty to save, and would. Then again, How did it end for Judah? "Now there was peace at last..."(2 Chro 32:22)- if He did it then, He can do it again (Heb 13:8). But first, you've got to trust Him enough to stay encouraged in all situations.....at all times....having the mindset that regardless of what happens God is very much enough for you.
