When The Storm Comes, Cling To Him

DAILY VITAMIN
Dr Mary Swope wrote "The monetary system of this world is crumbling. It will not be long until utter chaos will reign. No human mind will be able to solve the problems created by this collapse. Frantic and fearful fighting will occur. Fortunes will be lost overnight. Clear thinking and good sense will take its flight, for the security of the hoards will be removed, and there will be nothing to quickly come in and fill the vacuum. Confusion and despair will fill the air. Prepare yourself for this time as best as you can, and blindly declare victory through Jesus.......... You cannot know the answer to survival, but you can know the only one true God who does": and she ends it with the advice "cling to Me(God)".
In a world of pain and sorrows, true hope of survival from the vicious experiences of life can only be obtained through intimacy with the person of God. Your knowledge of God enlightens you of all He has said concerning you in such situations regardless of how it looks like. That is, the reassurance we get from simply spending time in knowledge of Him and His will for us gives us a 'sun' even in the midst of our darkest night. The hardships surrounding us may seem unsurmountable, the problems may appear devoid of solutions, but guess what? God has the answer. Cheer up! He has all we'd ever need to beat this recession life's presenting to us. All we have to do is to simply cling to Him: knowing Him more, obeying Him better, following Him well, and believing His every word without doubt. For instance, after the greatest victory Asa ever enjoyed, defeating a nation with troops thrice its size, the children of Israel had a contract of complete worship to God; and as a result it was recorded that "all were happy for this covenant with God, for they had entered into it with all their hearts and wills, and wanted him above everything else, and they found him! And He gave them PEACE throughout the nation" (2 Chro 15:15). Wholesome Peace in a chaotic civilization comes from finding God; for while the peace Jesus promised cannot be found in man regardless of who we meet and for how long, it is when we have Him residing in us. Hence, if the situation surrounding your present location gives you sleepless nights, this is the panacea you need- which is the peace of God that passes all understanding, giving calmness in the presence of horrible storms: and that my friend is found only in truly knowing God as a friend knows his friend. Again, Cling to Him!
