Responding Right (5)
DAILY VITAMIN
Several experiences have revealed to us that we must keep silent whenever the enemy taunts us, but if we must speak, then we must speak only the words already declared to us by God. The enemy gets pleasure in watching us trying to give excuses on why his claims seem true, because he knows that with that in a short while doubt and fear of 'what if he's right' will set in. The cue is to keep silent even when the claims of his taunting appear somewhat true at the present; and note your silent isn't because he is right, but because according to all God already assured you it's simply gibberish- and all gibberish need no response. In the wilderness, Jesus did just that. The devil sought to tempt Jesus with all Jesus already knew God had assured Him, and Jesus wouldn't respond to him with "I will show you its true" remarks, rather He dismissed him, because He knew God's words never need the devil's backup to be proved. They are forever true. But, the most peculiar example is that of Hezekiah and his people during the Assyrian siege. After the heathen king's messenger had blabbed about how God's not going to save them, they didn't cry, they didn't beg, they kept silent (Isa 36:21 NIV). The enemy's words shouldn't make you afraid if God already assured us of a victory. Look more on God's than on their's; and regardless of how long and boring their mischievous opinions are getting, keep silent....for as they say silence is the best answer for a fool, and whoever makes a statement against that which God has made already in an attempt to make Him look non-existent is termed a fool (Psalm 53:1). So, who would you rather listen to- the fool whose words never stands, or the wise God whose words stand forever. The choice of a response always remains in your hands....never forget that.
