Live Life Thankfully
DAILY VITAMIN
Many a time, people say they have nothing to be thankful for judging by the distaste of their present situation; and often times such situations still pose strongly as though they were right all along, as it astounds us with a "the more you look, the less you see" syndrome, such that the more we seek solace, the less we see any form of it, only an aggravated version of our past sufferings. However, regardless of the mishappenings we experience, there is always a reason to be thankful; one of which is the very life we have that stands as a beacon of hope to see the things we expect. Recently, i watched a documentary about the Nazis' rage on neighbouring european countries during WWII. On this occasion, hundreds of people were martyred in front of a church in Tuscany, ranging from elderlies to pregnant women, toddlers and the yet to be born children; and it came to my consciousness that just in the same way we didn't choose to be born into our present circumstances, those little fellows didn't choose to be carried in the womb the night before Hitler's wrath. At least we complain, but they didn't have the chance to complain. They didn't have the chance to borne dreams within, not to talk of chasing them. They, just like us, are a part of God's perfect plan, but instead of us, they were the ones born in the spring of 1944. Thus, know this: if those yet to be born kids only had the chance to live like we do, even in the midst of the trials we complain about, they would gladly accept it as an ecstasy. And so i say to myself, that though i may not have the houses or the cars i dream of, or the opportunities i crave, i choose to be thankful for the life i have. Hence, don't let your predicaments give you the philosophy that nothing's worth being thankful for, because with just a walk down your street you would see that what you have, many do not. It is commonly said that we might not be able to control what happens around us, or to us, but we can control what happens in us. So choose to stay believing, choose to be happy, choose to embrace the attitude of gratitude.....for believe God, it doesn't matter what your today spells out, there is hope in your future (Jer 31:17). Only believe!
