Focusing On God

DAILY VITAMIN
Have you ever had this funny experience of getting things you desired when your mind least wondered in that direction than when you stay worried on how you can help yourself get it. If yes, Great! But if no, then you should know this. You may not like my philosophy, but most times, if we'd just stop chasing our wants selfishly and persuade ourselves unto God's own plan, we would have them chasing us in response as lions do when they suddenly stop being the prey and become the predator of men. We tend to create excess friction on the path of God's flow every time we try to place ourselves in His position when we clutch our lives at either receiving a particular thing or a solemn good-bye God, thereby hindering the move of His power to bring the reality of the things we seek. It is true that the more we focus on a thing, the more the tendency it becomes ours; but when such focus puts God on hold, it is one that can bring only more misery than we started with. For instance, look at what happened to Amnon when his desire for his sister surpassed his reverence for God's moral judgment, or what happened to Ahab when he clutched his entirety unto claiming the field of Naboth at the expense of God's sacred law. It all turned out bad for them not because they couldn't get what they desired if they had let go and let God, but because they chose not to let go than let God. So, what am i trying to say: If God says you would get a thing, you would; just try to focus more on the things He wants you doing at the moment than trying to help Him with its fulfilment. Such that if you want a car, act like you don't want a car, and instead focus on accomplishing all God's simple tasks for you that day. If you want money, act like you don't want money, and focus more on God's own scheme of things for each day; and eventually you would get it, because not only did He say it, but because you focused more on the Giver than the promised gift, proving your intention to have Him above all other things. This may sound outrageous in comparison to the principles of faith we know, but i have learnt that if we'd just leave our desires for a while to focus on God, we'd have manifold more of everything we left a while ago both in this world and the next. Our strong desire for a thing often times hinders the flow of God's power, and so what this means is that because our desperation clutches at such a thing, we pinch off God's hand from the helm of the situation at hand. It's ironic but it's true that in this life we get the things we worry less about; because when we worry so much about a thing, and it seems not forthcoming, we kill the joy of the Lord needed as a receptor to obtain it from up above, but when we concentrate more on the Lord, we obtain more joy to receive. Thus, learn to focus more on God's daily plan for you than on how you can help bring the promise to pass; and this you do by simply following God's leading on how you can be of help to others everyday, and...mostly then all the help you need would come badging your way. Remeber, there is one that scatters  and yet increases. Be the man that says God's will first before desire, and the universe will conspire to say you first.
