Grace Speaks When God Speaks

DAILY VITAMIN
One truth i believe God wants every individual to know is that "The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion, slow to anger, and of great mercy. The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works"(Ps 145:8-9). So, let's imagine you've done the worst thing any man could ever do, how does God reply you when you return in repentance: "The LORD is gracious". God has a heart that is more bent on forgiving than punishing. In fact, He desires the wicked would just see right and live by Him (Eze 18:23,32). So, to the individuals out there who doubt if God could ever forgive them for all the wrongs they've done in the past or even some minutes ago; yes He can, and better still He wants to. All He requires of us is to seek Him with all our heart (Jer 29:13). He wants us to completely desire Him and all the graces He bear; ask for it, and it is ours- never returning to our old ways (Eph 4:22,24). Also, there are those out there plunged acutely by the horror of lack and want, who ask themselves if they would ever come out of it alive; if they would ever be restored to good times. Listen to what the same gracious God does for a living: "The LORD uphold all that fall and raise up all those that are bowed down" (vs 14). God won't let you fall. Regardless of how bent your situation has forged your present posture to be, He won't let you fall. In a land of famine, He made Isaac fruitful. In dryness, He made the widow's vessel overflow. He can do the same for us. God does all of these because He is gracious, compassionate and loving. He has our best interest at heart. All He beckons on us to do is to engage our hearts wholly in seeking to glorify His Person. One secret i've learnt of God is that, if you want to be an object of God's mercies, always make Him feel like the God He is. Bartimaeus did, the Centurion did, Mary of Bethany did, the Syrophoenician did and they all received greatly of His love. When you do the same, you'd get the same; or even much more. Hence, the call: always feel bold-despite the guilt holding you down-to approach Him, because regardless of all your sensual self condemning thoughts tell you, He is gracious, faithful and just to forgive and help all who seek Him.
