Get Your Intentions Right

It is an absolute truth to say that God-as well as life itself-judges our intentions before He judges our actions. A good action with a bad intention is appalling in His sight. The blessings we receive are somewhat products of our intentions. Abraham didn't literally sacrifice Isaac, but God searched his heart and saw his true intent to do so in to honour Him, and he was blessed forever. Little wonder why the sage wrote as a man thinks, so is he. Not just what he does, but first what he thinks. To God, our intentions are as good as our actions. And that's why if we are ever going to receive wholly from God, we have to fix our intents and get it right. Do you cry to God everyday for a promotion mainly because you seek an avenue to oppress a colleague? Or do you want to be rich so you can tell every other person just how dumb and lazy they are? Get your intents right, or else forget your promotion. God blessed David out of the 7 sons of Jesse because his heart was found to be perfect, with acceptable thoughts and meditations. Is yours so? God will never let His blessing become a source of disaster to the one He loves; so He works us first in fire, and when we come out pure as gold, He releases our due honour. Many are still stuck where they are because they've formed a legit reason in their intentions for why God must never move them out of it. The kingpin who kills the innocent and helpless today couldn't if he was never rich; so God won't give His own honour to a man who yearns only to put others in chains. Hence, here's a secret i've learnt to getting all your desires of God: Get your intentions right and commit them to Him (see Pro 16:1-3). Paul did, and he received sufficient grace; when we do, we'd get exactly the same sufficient grace we need.

DAILY VITAMIN  There is a difference between giving and giving generously. Generosity is more than just how much you give, but how hearted you do. What makes the poor fellow rich in the sight of God is how richly he gives even though in need himself. DAILY VITAMIN Decisions made out of anger or envy are not only self destructive, but they also affect the attitude of those we seem not to desire their hurt. For instance, when the sons of Jacob conspired to kill Joseph, to them it was the perfect way to get rid of the 'big dreamer' that made them all look like vision-less fellows, and had taken their father's affection from them; so they took it upon themselves and agreed that they were totally correct in their intended evil action. In everything you do always remember that love comes before ambition. Most times we get so carried away in climbing the ladder of success that we fail to recognize and notice when there are hands stretching high for us to help lift them up.   DAILY VITAMIN - Actions Speak Loudest “Don’t hide your light! Let it shine for all; let your good deeds glow for all to see, so that they will praise your heavenly Father.” (Matthew 5:16 TLB) It was 4:30 p.m., sometime in late January 2015. The students were crowded en masse for Laboratory Practice registrations. Everybody was there; the sleek guys and girls, and the geeks as well. And also there was myself, and my very good friend Earnest. We were both members of the Christian Community on campus; but Earnest was the more vocal kind. Well, on this day, the hall was replete with students and the process slow, but eventually it got to our turn. The Registration Officer (R.O) requested for the required fee and documentation and thus signed me up; however when it was Earnest’s time to get registered, he failed to ask for the fee.
