Engage Wisdom, Above All Others, In All You Do

DAILY VITAMIN
-Engage Wisdom, Above All Others, In All You Do
Wisdom is having the courage to refuse to do what people term good when it will only lead to your own destruction; and the willingness to learn what's right and best for you in order to apply it for your elevation- Write that down. George Clason's character Mathon tells the story of an ass and an ox; and of how the lack of wisdom in the disguise of good intentions almost ruined one for the other. He tells of an ox who bemoaned to the ass the hardness of his lot, saying "I do labour pulling the plow from morning until night. No matter how hot the day or tired my legs....still must i work. But you are a creature of leisure...and do nothing more than carry our master about where he wishes to go. When he goes nowhere you do rest and eat the green grass all the day". The ass trying to be sympathetic advised, "In the morning when the slave comes to fetch you to the plow, lie upon the ground and belloe much that he may say you are sick and cannot work". The ox took its advice and the next morning the slave returned to the master and told him the ox was sick and could not pull the plow. The master then retorted "Hitch the ass to the plow for the plowing must go on". And that day, a creature of leisure experienced hell in its most grievous state until his heart grew bitter and legs weary from a burden that wasn't his to carry by nature. This is in no wise a means to disapprove our intentions to do good; No, for even God commands us to never be weary of well doing. However, on the venture of playing good, many have been ground to nothingness. Remember, being good isn't always by saying yes, it is by acting as God would in situations, and even God says No at times for our-and His-good. Likewise, wisdom isn't about being crafty of secretly wicked to save self. You can be good and wise as you can be wise and good; you must only ensure that that form of goodness and wisdom has no place in its content for your complete annihilation. So, hear me out, it is good and well to assist those in trouble, it is well to help those upon whom life has given heavy toils. It is good to help those that are beginning that they may progress  as you have or aspire to become. But even though friendship is cemented on the platform of goodness, help must be given wisely, lest, like the ass, in our bid to help we take upon ourselves the fate of the indebted. "The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty" (Pro 22:3). Jesus carried a load, but it didn't lead to His ultimate destruction. It led to man's salvation and eventually His glorification. Hence, today, choose to be wise in all your endeavours that the grave may not count you among the many it swallows this day. From me, Oscar Ajoku, I pray you all the wisdom you need to help and yet keep your life. Stay wise!
