Honesty Pays

DAILY VITAMIN
Honesty is not only a scriptural virtue but, like they say, the best policy in life. Now or later, anyone who indulges in any opposite entanglements will weave a web of deceit that will produce his own destruction. The Bible states that, "Be not deceived; God cannot be mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap" (Gal 6:7). In situations like this when the web is already spurn, the only way to overcome it is to concentrate on truth and honesty, engaging in it wholeheartedly until you fight your way out of web of self damnation. Jesus taught us that "the truth will [always] set you free"....and that's why no matter who we are, without committing ourselves to honesty, we will always feel like we're living a facade of the life we seek. Every time we lie or cheat, it becomes easier to continue downhill - and the next temptation that comes will surely win against us big time as a result. It's easier to go downwards- you can roll haphazardly or even let frictionless stride do the job for you, but going or staying up requires conscious work. In the same way, living a well lived life takes conscious effort...conscious effort to live full of integrity, basking in the honour honesty brings. Take a look at Daniel, even at the point of death he stayed honest; and regardless of how his life was stirred, he turned out quite on the great side. Indeed, honesty pays. Here's my point: Not only does God expect us to lead honest lives, with a persona that easily reflects Him, our futures demand it. A generation built on lies will always remain lying in despondency even if it isn't evident now, but one on truth stands solid eternally. Relationships, business, leadership and all forms of impactful engagements thrive on the very act of being honest. Hence, don't excuse yourself as not being a saint, honesty is a choice; you can choose to oblige or to forfeit, but know this: every action commands a reaction, and God cannot be mocked; as we sow, we reap. So the word for you today in order to procure the promised manifestation this season is 'Be honest!'
