Back then in the 90’s, it was difficult being yourself. At least for me. At least for a lot of kids. There was always a standard to live up to; your parent’s, society’s etc. I’m not saying it’s not the same now, with the plethora of people being driven by TikTok and Instagram standards; it is. Just that back then, there weren’t a lot of options. Or should I say, not a lot that you thought you typically stood a chance at. In other words, you were conditioned to be freely allowed to be a bunch of things except what you oftentimes wanted the most. Anyway, there were also the ones who got away, pursuing their own dreams and didn’t give a care in the world about what anyone else thought. But for others, they were subjected to be what was assumed right, safe or just merely achievable. In those days, as it also is today, the easiest way to navigate such ways was timidity. Arguing with your guardians or teachers over a case you knew you were going to lose was clearly a waste of time. No o...
