Control Yourself

DAILY VITAMIN - Control Yourself “But I keep under my body, and bring it unto subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.” (1 Corinthians 9:27) Most times, people might offend you or even insult you, and you respond vehemently with what you supposed was the truth about them, seriously hurting them in the process; but rather than feeling good for defending yourself, you find yourself feeling guilty for hurting them. Has this ever happened to you? It has to me; and don’t worry okay, I’ll tell why you felt bad. Even though you think your outburst in anger was justifiable, you see, it wasn’t. As a human, it seems naturally and perfectly fine to react as you’ve been acted upon, but not as a Christian- and definitely not with God. In your fit of rage and wrath, you said things that might have been right but you weren’t supposed to. Based on what they did to you, it was the right response; they had it coming. But based on who yo

Wash Each Other's Feet

DAILY VITAMIN - Wash Each Other’s Feet “For I have given you example, that ye should so as I have done to you.” (John 13:15) In the verses that preceded the theme scripture, Jesus taught His disciples a very important lesson. He washed their feet and dried them as only slaves were known to do. And then admonished them to do the same to one another. You see, as much as the feet washing practice is very important in Christendom, and as much as its significance demonstrates how they had been washed by the Spirit of holiness, it was really just meant to show them the need for service. Everything we say we are in God is best demonstrated in service. Jesus said that the Messiah came not to rule, but to serve; and He also said “As the Father sent Me, so I send you” (John 17:18). So, our primary responsibility as believers is service- service to God and service to humanity. In fact, our faith is a definite reason for service. This is because faith works in love, and to love the hea

You Get What You Believe

DAILY VITAMIN - You Get What You Believe “Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them” Napoleon Hill once said that if you can believe and conceive it, you can achieve it. But all so soon we forget that Mr Hill wasn’t actually He who first said that- God was; and so when we think to doubt it, we are only harming ourselves, because God has Himself established it as the central code of life. But on the other hand, when we live applying this principle, we will live receiving its results. In Matthew 8, we see two instances of the wonder working power of your personal faith. First, we see a leper who said and believed that Jesus could heal him, and got his healing at that instant (vv. 2-3). Second, we see a centurion whom servant was terribly ill. He came to Jesus seeking help, and believed that a word from Him was enough to do the deed. In response, Jesus said “Go your way: and as you have believed, so
